ADVANCING MISSISSIPPI CONFERENCE CALLING FOR ABSTRACTS

4/22/2024 - Jackson, Miss.

The University Research Center, a division of Mississippi Institutions of Higher Learning (IHL), is inviting abstract submissions for the ninth annual Advancing Mississippi Conference, scheduled for September 27, 2024. The goal of the conference is to develop productive and innovative ways to overcome challenges and foster growth in the state, while creating better economic conditions for all Mississippians.

Abstracts should address long-term challenges such as low human capital, low educational attainment, health care, population growth, crime, tax policy, and other issues that may enhance or inhibit economic growth.

Participation in the conference is open to researchers at all levels, including undergraduate and graduate students, faculty, and researchers not affiliated with a university.

The deadline to submit abstracts is August 1, 2024. To be considered for the conference, abstracts must include a clear research question, data to be used (including sources), and a clear discussion of possible policy recommendations. The selection committee will notify the primary author by August 15 as to whether their paper has been accepted for conference participation.

Abstracts should be submitted to Dr. Sondra Collins at scollins@mississippi.edu, using “Conference Abstract” in the subject line.
