ABOUT MACTE: The Mississippi Association of Colleges for Teacher Education (MACTE) is a statewide organization affiliated with the American Association of Colleges for Teacher Education. Membership is comprised of the state’s accredited colleges, schools and departments preparing professional school personnel.
ABOUT NCATE: The National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) is the profession’s mechanism to help establish high quality teacher preparation. NCATE’s performance-based system of accreditation fosters competent classroom teachers and other educators who work to improve the education of all P-12 students.
ABOUT DR. CIBULKA: As president of NCATE, Dr. Cibulka also serves as president of newly-unified Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP), which is scheduled to become fully operational in 2013. Dr. Cibulka has a long and distinguished career in higher education prior to his tenure with NCATE.
