The Board of Trustees of State Institutions of Higher Learning will meet at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 14, for the purpose of discussing strategic planning and budgetary issues. Members of the public and media may attend the meeting in the Conference Center at Longleaf Plantation, 78 Baker Road, Purvis, Miss. 39475. Members of the Board may participate in the meeting via teleconference. An Executive Session may be held in accordance with the Open Meetings Act.
The Board of Trustees will hold its regular monthly meeting on Thursday, September 15, 2011, beginning at 8:30 a.m. Members of the Board may participate in the meeting via teleconference. The Board and public may attend the meeting in the Thad Cochran Center Ballroom II on the campus of the University of Southern Mississippi, 118 College Drive, Hattiesburg, Miss. 39406. An Executive Session may be held in accordance with the Open Meetings Act.
The Standing Committees of the Board of Trustees will meet beginning at 9:00 a.m. in the Thad Cochran Center according to the following schedule:
The committees will meet to discuss issues related to the successes, needs and opportunities in each area at the university. An executive session may be held in accordance with the Open Meetings Act.
A driving tour of the campus will be held at 10:15 a.m. and a media roundtable will follow at 11:00 a.m. in Room 218 A&B in the Thad Cochran Center.
On Friday, September 16, the Board of Trustees will tour the University of Southern Mississippi Gulf Coast Campus, 730 East Beach Boulevard, Long Beach, Miss. 39560, beginning at 9:30 a.m. in the Gulf Park Library, Room 203. A media roundtable will be held at 11:15 a.m. in the Gulf Park Library, Room 204. The Board of Trustees will tour the Gulf Coast Research Laboratory, Cedar Point, 3600 Gollott Road, Ocean Springs, MS 39564, at 1:30 p.m.
