Event: Contractors are required to be EPA lead-certified by April 2010. Mississippi State University's Extension Service will offer several Renovation, Repair and Painting Certification Training sessions in full-day courses and half-day refresher courses. The sessions are presented by the Alliance for Healthy Homes and funded in part by a grant from the W.K. Kellogg Foundation.

Event: The Mockingbird Early Music Ensemble presents "O Magnum Mysterium," its annual Christmas concert featuring music of the 16th and 17th centuries. Based in Oxford, the ensemble presents historically informed presentations of music created before 1750 using period instruments. Admission is free.

Event: The Southern Miss Gulf Coast Civic Chorale, which features over 80 singers from across the Gulf Coast, will celebrate the holiday season with two free concerts featuring the Coronation Mass in C by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. The concerts, titled "Begin the Celebration," will feature chamber orchestra accompaniment during the Coronation Mass in C performance. In addition to the feature performance, the chorale will perform traditional holiday songs.
