Students trying to book an appointment at a campus health clinic and administrators searching for proper procedures in preventing a flu outbreak need not look any further.
The Mississippi Institutions of Higher Learning has launched a new Web site aimed at getting out accurate and up-to-date information regarding flu viruses and other illness.
The Web site currently hosts guidance on novel H1N1 (commonly called Swine Flu) from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, ready-to-use communications tools for universities and comprehensive health clinic information for students including phone numbers, hours and Web sites.
"We want to protect instructional time for students and faculty by providing information that can help keep everyone at our universities healthy," Commissioner of Higher Education Dr. Hank Bounds said.
The Web site will also host other emergency preparedness information for natural disasters and other emergency situations that affect Mississippi?s eight public universities.
