The Graduation Rate Task Force, co-chaired by Senator Doug Davis and Representative Kelvin Buck, will meet on Wednesday, August 26 at 1:00 p.m. in the IHL Board Room in the Universities Center, 3825 Ridgewood Road, Jackson, MS 39211. The task force was established by the Mississippi Legislature during the 2009 regular session to study and report on graduation rates in the state’s public four-year and two-year postsecondary institutions. The task force will hear a presentation on the connection between educational attainment and Mississippi’s future from Dennis Jones, president of the National Center for Education Management Systems.
The Graduation Rate Task Force consists of representatives of the Mississippi Legislature, the Governor’s Office, the Institutions of Higher Learning, Mississippi’s Community and Junior Colleges, the Mississippi State Board of Education, and the Mississippi Economic Council.
