Various committee meetings have been scheduled to advance the search by the Board of Trustees of State Institutions of Higher Learning (IHL) for the next Chancellor of the University of Mississippi (UM).
Members of the University of Mississippi Search Advisory Committee will meet with executive search consultants with Parker Executive Search to review and discuss all candidate resumes and identify no fewer than five names to forward to the UM Board Search Committee for possible interviews. The meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, May 5, 2009, beginning at 3:00 p.m., in Lyceum Room 200 on the University of Mississippi Campus, 1848 University Circle, University, MS 38677. An executive session may be held in accordance with the Open Meetings Act. The UM Search Advisory Committee was formed by the IHL Board to assist with the Board's search for the next institutional executive officer of UM and is chaired by UM Vice Chancellor for Research and Sponsored Programs Dr. Alice Clark. The Search Advisory Committee is also expected to announce the names of its members who will join the IHL Board throughout the remainder of the interview process. This representative group will be referred to as the Interview Search Advisory Committee.
A teleconference has been scheduled on Friday, May 8 at 1:00 p.m. for the combined Chancellor Board Search Committee/Interview Search Advisory Committee to discuss candidates and related issues. An executive session may be held in accordance with the Open Meetings Act. Members of the public or press may attend the meeting at one of the following locations:
