BOARD TO MEET WITH UNIVERSITY OF MISSISSIPPI CONSTITUENCY GROUPS

The Mississippi Board of Trustees of State Institutions of Higher Learning's (IHL) Board Search Committee for the next Chancellor of the University of Mississippi will meet with various University of Mississippi constituency groups on Tuesday, February 17, 2009, beginning at 7:45 a.m. at The Inn at Ole Miss on the University of Mississippi campus, Alumni Drive, University, MS, 38677. The purpose of the meetings is to hear what qualities the University of Mississippi community is looking for in their next Chancellor. These qualities will be used to draft the profile and job description for the position of Chancellor at the University of Mississippi.

Members of the University of Mississippi Board Search Committee include Committee Chair and Board President Amy Whitten of Oxford; Trustee Stacy Davidson of Cleveland; Trustee Bob Owens of Jackson; Trustee Aubrey Patterson of Tupelo; Trustee Alan Perry of Jackson; Trustee Christine Pickering of Biloxi; and Trustee Doug Rouse of Hattiesburg. All meetings are open to the media.

The schedule, subject to change, is as follows:

7:45-8:45 a.m.: Breakfast and listening session with Vice Chancellors and Athletics Director; McMillan Boardroom; The Inn at Ole Miss

*9:00-9:45 a.m.: Listening session with Deans, Associate Vice Chancellors, and Associate Deans; Ballroom Sections C and D; The Inn at Ole Miss

*9:45-10:30 a.m.: Listening session with University of Mississippi Alumni Association Board of Directors; Ballroom Sections C and D; The Inn at Ole Miss

*10:30-11:15 a.m.: Listening session with Assistant Vice Chancellors, Assistant Deans, Academic and Non-Academic Department Chairs, Department Heads, and Directors; Ballroom Sections C and D; The Inn at Ole Miss

*11:15 a.m.-Noon: Listening session with the Faculty Senate; Ballroom Sections C and D; The Inn at Ole Miss

12:15-1:10 p.m.: Lunch and listening session with representatives of the University of Mississippi Foundation Board of Directors; Ballroom Section A, The Inn at Ole Miss

*1:15-1:45 p.m.: Listening session with Staff Council and Professional and Support Staff; Ballroom Sections C and D; The Inn at Ole Miss

**1:45-2:30 p.m.: Listening session with the University of Mississippi Medical Center Faculty and Staff, Ballroom Sections C and D; The Inn at Ole Miss

*2:30-3:15 p.m.: Listening session with the General Faculty; Ballroom Sections C and D; The Inn at Ole Miss

*3:15-4:00 p.m.: Listening session with University of Mississippi Alumni, Community Leaders, and General Public; Ballroom Sections C and D; The Inn at Ole Miss

4:00-4:30 p.m.: Listening session with University of Mississippi Athletic Association Foundation Board of Directors; McMillan Boardroom; The Inn at Ole Miss

*4:30-5:00 p.m.: Listening session with Undergraduate and Graduate Student Leaders and General Student Body; Ballroom Sections C and D; The Inn at Ole Miss

*All sessions in the Ballroom Sections C and D will be webcast; the link will be provided on the University of Mississippi main web page at a later date.

**UMMC faculty and staff can participate via videoconference hosted in sections A and B of the auditorium at the Norman C. Nelson Student Union on the Jackson campus.
