Members of the Board of Trustees of State Institutions of Higher Learning and Commissioner of Higher Education Dr. Thomas C. Meredith will hold meetings with various community and elected officials on Tuesday, June 6, at 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. at the Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College—Jefferson Davis Campus in the Fine Arts Building Auditorium to discuss the future of education on the Mississippi Gulf Coast.

Media are invited to cover the meetings. This is not a formal meeting of the Board as the Board will not have a quorum.

Under the leadership of the Board of Trustees, IHL governs the public universities in Mississippi, including Alcorn State University; Delta State University; Jackson State University; Mississippi State University including the Mississippi State University Division of Agriculture, Forestry and Veterinary Medicine; Mississippi University for Women; Mississippi Valley State University; the University of Mississippi including the University of Mississippi Medical Center; and the University of Southern Mississippi.
