The Mississippi Education Achievement Council will meet on Thursday, October 22, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. in the IHL Board Room, 3825 Ridgewood Road, Jackson, MS 39211.
Due to recommendations from the Mississippi State Department of Health for social distancing due to the coronavirus, members of the Council may participate in the meeting via an online meeting platform. The meeting will be webcast on www.mississippi.edu. Members of the public and media may attend the meeting in the IHL Board Room, located in the Universities Center, 3825 Ridgewood Road, Jackson, Miss. 39211, allowing the maximum number in the room per Executive Order 1525, issued by Governor Tate Reeves on September 30, 2020.
The council was established by the Mississippi Legislature during the 2010 regular session to establish education achievement goals for the state, monitor and report on the state’s progress toward these goals and prepare an annual report card compiled from the annual reports submitted by each state institution of higher learning and community college in the state.
The Mississippi Education Achievement Council consists of representatives of the Mississippi Legislature, the Governor’s Office, the State Institutions of Higher Learning, Mississippi’s Community Colleges, the Mississippi State Board of Education, the Mississippi Department of Mental Health and the Mississippi Economic Council.
