ADVANCING MISSISSIPPI CONFERENCE TO BE HELD JUNE 8

Transportation infrastructure, sustainable communities and the healthcare workforce are just three of the topics focused on Mississippi that will be discussed at the University Research Center's Advancing Mississippi conference, which will be held on from 9:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 8, 2017 at Jackson State University's e-Center, 1230 Raymond Rd, Jackson, MS 39204. Registration is $40 per person until May 1, 2017 and then $60 per person until the day of the event. The registration fee includes lunch.

The second annual Advancing Mississippi Conference offers a unique opportunity for researchers to contribute to making Mississippi's future brighter for all citizens by presenting papers addressing long-term economic challenges facing the state. Researchers are asked to focus on any topic that could inhibit or enhance economic growth in the state, with the goal of providing information to policymakers, business leaders and community advocates to discover productive avenues to overcome challenges and foster growth in Mississippi.

Dr. Andrea Mayfield, Executive Director of the Mississippi Community College Board, will address Advancing Workforce Participation in the luncheon keynote address.
