MISSISSIPPI POSTSECONDARY EDUCATION FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE BOARD TO MEET JULY 18

The Mississippi Postsecondary Education Financial Assistance Board will meet via teleconference on Monday, July 18, 2016, at 10:00 a.m. to reconsider the definition of full-time enrollment for state aid eligibility for students attending institutions operating on the quarter system. Members of the public and media may attend the meeting in Room 432 of the Education and Research Center, 3825 Ridgewood Road, Jackson, Mississippi, 39211. An Executive Session may be held in accordance with the Open Meetings Act.

The Mississippi Postsecondary Education Financial Assistance Board has authority over all state student financial aid programs, which include undergraduate and graduate grant and forgivable loan programs. Public, private, two-year and four-year college students in Mississippi may be eligible for state aid.

The Director of the Postsecondary Board is appointed by the Mississippi Board of Trustees of State Institutions of Higher Learning, which governs the public universities in Mississippi, including Alcorn State University; Delta State University; Jackson State University; Mississippi State University including the Mississippi State University Division of Agriculture, Forestry and Veterinary Medicine; Mississippi University for Women; Mississippi Valley State University; the University of Mississippi including the University of Mississippi Medical Center; and the University of Southern Mississippi.
