Our state's public universities have a wealth of resources that are critical to growing Mississippi's economy. We have a network of relationships within the Mississippi Institutions of Higher Learning (IHL) that lets us quickly access these resources. The assets of our public universities help employers grow, as well as attract new companies to Mississippi. The IHL Office of Business and University Relations connects these resources with the employers and economic developers who can make things happen.

The unit promotes and publicizes IHL programs, policies, and outcomes as well as responding to media requests. The Public Affairs Department also provides support in the areas of media relations, communications and marketing. These functions are carried out in cooperation with the universities, high school counselors, businesses and others. The IHL Public Affairs Department works regularly with the media to answer questions relating to the system of higher education in Mississippi.
