Mr. Gregg Rader was appointed to the Board by Governor Tate Reeves in May 2021 to represent the Third (Northern) Supreme Court District for a term to expire May 7, 2030.
A native of Jackson, Mr. Rader is a 1984 graduate of Mississippi State University, where he earned a bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering. In 2020, he was honored with the James Worth Bagley College of Engineering Distinguished Alumnus Award.
Mr. Rader has enjoyed a 30-year business career, most recently serving as Executive Chairman of Columbus Recycling Corporation. He joined the company in 1991 as Vice President of Operations, following a stint as a petroleum engineer at Occidental Petroleum in Houston, Texas.
Mr. Rader is an active member of the community, serving on the boards of BankFirst Capital Corporation and the YMCA. He is a past board member of the Lowndes County Industrial Development Authority, the Mississippi State Bulldog Club (two terms), and the Mississippi State Foundation (two terms). Mr. Rader served as an officer of the Lowndes County Mississippi State Alumni chapter and is a past member of the Columbus Rotary Club.
Mr. Rader and his wife, Welissa, live in Columbus, where they raised their three children. They are active members of Pine Lake Church and are passionate about philanthropy, supporting a variety of organizations through their family foundation, which was started in 1996 on the premise of giving back to the communities that serve the needs of many.
