Mr. Powell "Gee" Ogletree, Jr., was appointed to the Board by Governor Phil Bryant in May 2018 to represent the Central Supreme Court District for a term to expire May 7, 2027.
Mr. Ogletree received his Juris Doctor from the University of Mississippi School of Law in 1980 and his Bachelor of Science from the University of Southern Mississippi in 1977. He is a partner at Adams and Reese LLP where he founded and leads the firm's forestry team and coordinates the firm's real estate work throughout Mississippi. Mr. Ogletree has previously served as Chair of the Adams and Reese Executive Committee, practice group leader for transactions and corporate advisory services and as Partner in Charge of the firm's Jackson office.
Mr. Ogletree is active within the legal and business community. He has served on the American Bar Association's Council of the Section of Environment, Energy and Resources, and served two terms as Chair of the Forest Resources Committee. He serves as general counsel for the Mississippi Forestry Association and the Mississippi Manufactured Housing Association, and previously served as an adjunct professor at Mississippi College School of Law. He is licensed to practice law in Mississippi and Alabama.
Mr. Ogletree earned the Distinguished Service Award from the Mississippi Bar Association and the Professionalism Award from the Hinds County Bar Association. He is a member of the American College of Real Estate Attorneys and a Trustee of the Mississippi Bar Foundation. Mr. Ogletree has been recognized for his real estate work in Chambers USA, Mid-South Super Lawyers® and The Best Lawyers in America®, and is AV® Peer Review Rated by Martindale-Hubbell. He has been named to the University of Southern Mississippi Alumni Association's Hall of Fame.
Mr. Ogletree and his wife have two daughters and five grandchildren, and they enjoy spending time with their families. He is a former Elder at Pinelake Church.
