Mr. James H. (Jimmy) Heidelberg was appointed to the Board by Governor Tate Reeves in March 2024 to represent the Second (Southern) Supreme Court District for a term to expire May 7, 2033.
A lifelong resident of Pascagoula, Mississippi, Heidelberg is a partner in the law firm of Heidelberg, Steinberger, Burrow & Armer P.A. His practice primarily involves trial and appellate litigation in the fields of personal injury, governmental law, and professional liability.
Heidelberg is a member of the Mississippi Bar, the Mississippi Bar Foundation, the Jackson County Bar Association, the Mississippi Defense Lawyers Association, the Mississippi Claims Association, the Defense Research Institute, American Inns of Court, the Federation of Defense and Corporate Counsel, and the International Association of Defense Counsel.
He has held an AV-rating from Martindale-Hubbell since 1994 and has been listed among "The Best Lawyers in America" since 1999. He was presented with the Distinguished Service Award by the Mississippi State Bar in 2003.
Heidelberg has served on the Mississippi Oil & Gas Board since 2012, including a term as chairman. In 2022, he was appointed to the Jackson County Port Authority. That same year, he was recognized as one of Mississippi's Top 50 Most Influential Citizens.
After earning his undergraduate degree in political science and finance at the University of Southern Mississippi, Heidelberg earned his law degree from the University of Mississippi.
